Here’s the painting I completed Friday afternoon at Yaddo during my private workshop.
Some pointers on painting reflections.

• Careful observation is always key to improving your paintings. Take your time to view how the water interacts with light, and surrounding objects.
• Reflected sky light will always appear darker in the water.
• Reflected dark objects, like trees, figures, etc. will appear lighter/duller in appearance.
• Your reflected edges will appear fuzzier and lighter than the reflected shadows directly by the shoreline.
