I would like to improve my portrait painting skills, and the best way to do so is to step out of my landscape safe place, and practice, practice, practice! Here’s a pastel of my sweet daughter. I think the likeness is good, and it captures her brilliant nature. When I showed it to her she said, ” WOW, it’s ME!” then added “Well it doesn’t look exactly like me, but it’s great, Mom.” Everyone’s a critic! She’s keeping me humble. 🙂
