This month (6/21) marks the 10 year anniversary of my blog! How quickly that time has gone by, with many wonderful happenings along the way. Here’s a recap of some wonderful achievements since day 1:

  • My artwork has been acquired many national (32/52 states) and international (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, and Scotland) collections
  • Added 2 wonderful children to my family
  • My work is licensed on Art.com
  • Became an Art Instructor at Saratoga Arts
  • Became a board member at Saratoga Arts
  • Became an Art Instructor at Arlene’s Artist Materials
  • Juried associate member of the Pastel Society of America
  • Member of the Adirondack Pastel Society
  • One painting is now in a museum’s permanent collection (Brookside Museum)
  • My work has been on featured a billboard
  • My work was featured in a Dick Blick catalog
  • I’ve won several awards for my paintings
  • Participated in well over 36 group and solo shows since 2006
  • Completed many special commissions for my collectors
  • Donated many paintings to support causes important to me and my family
  • I’ve made many, many, wonderful friends in my students, fellow artists, and collectors
  • Built (in process) a studio in my backyard
  • My work has been featured on a few fantastic Art Blogs
  • Became a juried member of the Oakroom Artists

All of the above, I owe to my supportive family, friends, students, and art collectors. I thank you all for cheering me on all these years. To thank you, I’ll be doing a few special things over the next few weeks – painting give-away, open studio party, etc. Stay tuned…Many thanks to so many of you who’ve supported, inspired and encouraged me throughout the years!

Duane Keiser, and Julian Merrow-Smith were the first Daily Painters I discovered in 2006 who inspired me to paint at least twice a week – thank you! Karen Margulis, Tracy Helgeson, Kim Morin Weineck, Ria Hills and Loriann Signori are a few of the many inspiring and generous artists (including those I didn’t mention by name – you know who you are) who’ve given me advice in the beginning, over the years, and as recently as a month ago! Many thanks to Corina O, and Michelle LaLonde for giving me my very first solo shows. And to all of my supportive family, and art collectors, far and near for enabling me to continue creating art! Thank you!

The above painting is available at Silverwood Gallery in Bolton Landing this month. It is the largest painting I’ve done to date, and a direction (painting larger) I’d like to continue to explore.

Until next time…

Takeyce
