Gardens at Mohonk

pastel on sanded paper
SOLD

Here’s another piece inspired by my trip to the Mohonk Mountain House last summer. This is a view from the beautiful cutting gardens. These flowers are called Liatris but are more commonly known as Blazing Star. The tall purple stalks actually hold clusters of small individual flowers that attract lots of butterflies and birds. I’ll have to capture a close up in a future painting.

This painting is available framed or unframed.

Until next time…
