Behold… Mr. Stripey, ripe and unripe! I have been growing this heirloom species for the entire summer, and to my excitement (hey, it’s the little things in life)… one of the plants finally yielded a rather large fruit, which ripened recenlty. I have been battling the chipmunks all summer (almost Caddy Shack style) , and was so pleased to be triumphant over the little rascals the day I plucked Mr. Stripey! The unripe tomato is a younger fruit that fell from another plant (I’m sure the chipmunks did it!) . I really enjoyed the challenge of reproducing the seeds. I also used a toned pastel paper for the warm yellow background.
