I can now fondly recall my first encounter with the river &#8211; an eventful canoe trip with my family many years ago. We encountered some rapids, and had to steer for the shoreline before narrowly missing a little white water drop! Our eldest, who was about seven years old at the time yelled &#8220;That was fun! Let&#8217;s do it again!&#8221;. On the other hand, I think the adults gained several gray hairs that day!<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to that boisterous trip, this piece captures a peaceful morning on the river. It is currently available at my solo show: &#8220;Catching the Light&#8221; in Salem, NY. I am looking forward to opening reception this Friday, 3\/9 from 5 &#8211; 8 PM.
