I am so glad you are here.\u00a0 My name is Takeyce, and I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. I love sunrises, sunsets, trees, dew,\u00a0 laughter, light, and my all time muse – all bodies of water – lakes, streams, rivers, and the ocean.<\/p>\n

I work with oils, gouache, and pastels to create art that reflects my love of the landscape.<\/p>\n

This year, I\u2019ve decided to focus Creative February on the beautiful, vital landscape of the Adirondacks \u2014 specifically, places conserved by the Adirondack Chapter of The Nature Conservancy over the course of its 46-year history. I joined the chapter\u2019s board of directors last year, and I can\u2019t wait to share images of these iconic Adirondack places with you. Every day in February, I\u2019ll paint a different image, with each week representing a different season.<\/p>\n

My goal for this project is to engage the community by providing daily inspiration through images and text, to connect people to the Adirondacks through art, and increase awareness about The Conservancy\u2019s conservation mission in this region. I will facilitate the entire month via social media channels, particularly Instagram. Each day, I will post the daily Adirondack image for participating artists to use as inspiration to create their own art, and then share via social media by tagging with the hashtag: #CreativeAdirondacks<\/strong>. I will share my painting, along with educational, and inspirational text about the location. Moreover, I hope we can engage in creative conversation on what this precious region means to us, not only as a wellspring of beauty, but also its important ecological impact.<\/p>\n

At the start of the month, my completed paintings will appear on this page<\/a> and will populate as the month progresses. You can also view works being created by all participating artists by searching #CreativeAdirondacks on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.<\/p>\n

Celebrate the agricultural beauty of the Upper Hudson River Valley<\/p>\n

For 27 years the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) has worked to accomplish a singular mission: protect the farms, rich soils and agricultural landscape in Washington and Rensselaer counties for future generations. In that time they\u2019ve managed to conserve 112 farms and 17,500 acres. For the last 15 years, a significant source of funding for this mission has come from Landscapes for Landsake Art Sale and Exhibition, a celebration of the land by the community of local artists.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s exhibition features the work of 58 artists, thirteen of which are participating for the first time. Several of the artists will be on hand to discuss their work throughout the weekend. The sale takes place in the historic barn at Maple Ridge, 172 State Route 372 in the hamlet of Coila, just west of the Village of Cambridge. The show opens with a wine and cheese reception on Saturday, October 7th from 12 to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. The gallery is also open from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday free of charge.<\/p>\n
