EVERY DAY: A Month of Paintings by Kate Edwards and Takeyce Walter – Spring Street Gallery, Saratoga Springs, NY
April 12 – June 8th, 2014
Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 3 – 5 PM

A Month of Paintings by Kate Edwards and Takeyce Walter

Saratoga-area painters Kate Edwards and Takeyce Walter share a birthday, and this year, they gave themselves the gift of time to create art. In February, using Facebook to both keep their friends and each other apprised of their progress, they completed something nearly every day (while making accommodations for “regular life”). By month’s end, they say they’ve found themselves more spontaneous, more focused, and more open to the beauty and the potential for art in all they see.

“Every painter wants to paint every day,” Edwards, co-owner of Kettlewell and Edwards Fine Art and Framing, “and someday, I’m hoping I spend most of my time painting, rather than working, but right now, that’s unrealistic.” “But we can put our mind into that creative space every day,” says Walter, a Project Manager, “and take some time to acknowledge our art and ourselves. This is who we are, and we took a month to honor it.”

The paintings from their month-long project will be at Spring Street Gallery Two @ 112 Spring from April 12 through June 8, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 12, from 3-5pm.

The Art of Blogging Worshop

Saturday, October 18: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Saratoga County Arts Council
Saratoga Springs, NY

This workshop will educate artists on how to gain an online presence through creating a
web log, or a “blog”. Students will learn about the history of blogs, how blogs can be helpful
when marketing your work, how to get started, what resources are available in the development and creation of a blog, and what the benefits of having a blog can be. While the workshop focuses on art, anybody who is interested in learning about blogs is welcome to attend.

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, but it is not necessary. Please bring a bag lunch.

Please email me for future registration information.
