Heading towards the fading light, finding my way home.
I am almost half way through this project. It’s so funny how it’s become a habit. I start to get cranky if 9 PM rolls around and I haven’t started painting yet! Now if I could only figure out a way to get my cardio in while I paint!
This painting was the demo I completed at the “Meet me at Mimosa” Luncheon yesterday. This was a completely new experience for me (painting while engaging with an audience), but it went a lot better than I had initially thought. The group was very welcoming, and made me very comfortable. It was like having a conversation with 30 close friends. I want to thank the fabulous Michelle LaLonde and her wonderful team for hosting, and connecting me and my work to such passionate art lovers.
The show is up until this Sunday, 7/28. It’s very bitter sweet. I’m sad that it’ll be over soon, but so happy to have met so many wonderful collectors/art lovers and I’ll have a lot less work to bring back to the studio as well. YAY! More space for new work!
Here’s another painting currently being shown at my solo exhibition at Mimosa Gallery. The opening reception is tomorrow, 7/13 from 4 – 7 PM. Details are below: “Inspired” Works by Takeyce Walter

Dick Blick is a major art supplier with online and psychical stores through out the country. They have invited me to feature my work in their upcoming Fall catalog this year! I immediately jumped at the opportunity as it allows my work to be seen by many thousands of Blick customers, artist, and art lovers. It’s really an honor and I’m excited and humbled.
You can get a copy of the catalog from dickblick.com at the end of July here: Request a Catalog

This weekend I dropped off a car load of paintings including the one above to Mimosa Gallery for my solo show there this month. It was such a relief and thrill to hand them off. I can’t wait to see the work all together. I am tremendously proud of the paintings being shown in this exhibition. Lots of hard work, long hours, and sleepless nights. It’s certainly all worth it in the end.
Each of these paintings capture moments of inspiration. Moments where I took pause to appreciate the beauty that I am so fortunate to be surrounded by every day.
Here’s an image of the postcard. It features the painting “Summer Shadows” 6×8″ oil.

Here’s a little landscape from last fall capturing a beautiful autumn day on the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve from the Whipple bridge. We are really fortunate to live close to many nature preserves and open spaces. It’s all a constant source of inspiration.
Until next time…
