Two Bananas

Here’s a recently completed commission for a friend. “Two Bananas” will join 3 other small pastels in series of fruit for her kitchen. They are framed in a simple brown 8×8″ square frame. I hear they look pretty awesome together. I’ll share a photo soon.

If you’d like to commission a painting, or a series for your home, please feel free to email me.

Golden Pear

4x5" | Oil $150 - Framed - 6x7"
4×5″ | Oil
SOLD- Framed – 6×7″

Available, Please email me for purchase info

A little still life painted from direct observation in afternoon light. I think as an artist, it is so important to work from life. By doing so, you are training your eyes and brain to really *see* not only the pear, but how the light interacts with the pear and its surroundings. That golden pear also picks up the blues from the background, it reflects the light from the blue/grey surface, and the shadows have a tint of violet (yellows complementary color of the yellow). You train your brain to paint what you actually see, not what you *think* a pear looks like.
