Evening Moon

“Evening Moon” | 8×8″ | oil
SOLD – Private collection, Saratoga Springs, NY

Here’s a little oil painting of the full moon from the other night. It was started as a demo at my “Concept to Canvas workshop at Saratoga Arts. My winter schedule is now available on my Workshops page.

Winter Morning

“Winter Morning”| 9×12” | pastel and oil paint

Sold – Private collection in Saratoga Springs, NY

At my “Understanding Tonal Values” workshop at Arlene’s, I realized that I forgot my large pastel box. Luckily, I had my handy Terry Ludwig Basic Landscapes set with me – so I was able to get this demo done. I needed the tree stand to be darker than the darkest dark I had, so I decided to do an oil wash there. I am pretty pleased with how it all came together.

Until next time…

Moody Marsh

“Moody Marsh” | 12×12″ – pastel
$500/600 unframed/framed

Here’s a recent piece I started as a demo for the Artists in Action program at the Saratoga Springs Public Library. The program is run through a partnership of Saratoga Arts and the library to make the Arts more accessible to the public.

I’d like to thank Chris Alexander for considering me for this program. I had great fun!

It captures a marsh near Lake George on a foggy, rainy November afternoon.

Orange Glow

Orange Glow by Takeyce Walter
“Orange Glow” | 12×12″ | oil

Autumn is my favorite season to paint. It’s the only season when I get to be as bold with my color choices. Take this orange tree for example, how awesome is that? Had to paint it!

Winter Farm Moonrise

“Winter Farm Moonrise” | 12×24″ | Oil

I’ve had this piece on my mind for about 3 years now. Well, here it is… finally! Just in time for the Agricultural Stewardship Association’s (ASA) annual fundraiser, Landscapes for Landsake.
A fundraiser to support local farmland conservation, the show features local artists whose work is inspired by the region’s working landscapes. It takes place in the historic barn at Maple Ridge, 172 State Route 372 in the hamlet of Coila, just west of the Village of Cambridge. The show opens on Saturday, October 8th from 12 to 5 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception. Admission is $5 per person. The gallery is also open from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday free of charge.

A portion of all sales will be donated to help support the ongoing efforts of the organization.
