This is my afternoon demo from the Landscapes in Oil workshop with the Bethlehem Art Association. I would like to do a much larger version of this painting soon. I love those back-lit clouds!
In class we discussed the importance of choosing a good composition, and working from photos. This piece for example was a combination of two separate photos taken on the same day. One photo of the marsh had clear detail of the ground, but the sky was washed out. My solution was to take another photo of the sky with the correct exposure to capture those brilliant clouds.
Until next time…
