This little gem was completed on Saturday during Art in the Park. I’ve been so busy, I completely failed to send out a note about it before. This year was interesting. Many vendors didn’t show up because of the threat of rain in the morning. Despite that, there was a really great showing in customers. I met some friends – old and new. All in all, we had a great time. The rain eased up, so the afternoon was nice and sunny. Thanks to everyone who was able to stop by. A HUGE thanks to my supporting crew (you know who you are!). I couldn’t do it every year without you!!

Now it’s back to the studio to work on a couple commissions.

Four Years and Counting!

This is another painting I started last week during the SAF Paint Out, but had to finish at home because of the rain. It’s a study of one of the many little ducks that live by the pond in Congress Park. This one in particular showed more interest in what I was doing than the others. So I snapped a couple pictures of him for this piece. He’s the second duck I’ve ever painted. The first was in the other SAF painting – Winding Stream. Did you spot him?

Blog Anniversary!
June 19th is my blog’s 4 year anniversary! In celebration, I’m doing a drawing for a free painting. This weekend marks the 4th Annual SaratogaArtsFest!
I’ll be participating with the Paint Out, and the Featured Group Exhibition. The reception for the group show was last night. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it, and special thanks to the collectors -some returning, and some new – who purchased several of my paintings.

I painted in Congress Park as a part of the Paint Out. Here’s a picture of my setup with the painting in progress.

It will be featured in the SAF Paint Out Artists’ Reception tomorrow, Sunday 6/12 from 3 – 5 PM. The reception is being held at House of Creative Soul – 38 Van Dam Street. Stop by if you’re in town.

A favorite scene revisited, this time with pastels and a wider format. There’s something about this moment that invokes such peace and reflection. I could probably paint it 100 times and never grow tired of it.

The painting is matted (white) and framed (black wood). It will be displayed with a few of my other paintings at my upcoming group show for Saratoga Arts Fest. The opening is on June 11th, from 5 – 7 PM at the SAF Center Gallery on Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Please stop by if you are in town.
