This farmhouse is next to the old barn I painted the other day. I think they are both over 100 years old! At some point, the family probably owned a lot of the land around them which has since been sold off and developed. But this house and its barn still stand as a reminder of the lands agricultural past.

This is an old barn close to home. The bright afternoon light captured my attention here. I love the way it illuminates the trees, barn, and grasses. It just screams summer!

Also, this month (June 16) was my 2-year anniversary of starting A Fine Art Blog! We’ve come a long way since that first post! Thanks for all the support and encouragment through it all. I can’t wait to see where the next 2 years lead.

I often wonder if I’ve successfully conveyed the essence and mood of the moments captured in my paintings.

So you can imagine how happy I was to see that Elijah Shifrin over at Art & Critique took the time to review a few of my paintings. Thanks, Elijah!!

I’ve never really had someone critique my work in such depth and detail. Elijah reviewed a total of eight paintings from three different series. It was so fascinating to read his perspective on each piece.
